Not even the great Moses rejoiced in such a manner on his descent from Mount Sinai. We do not say he abounded7περισσεύω in joy, far from it. For when the man who beheld the vision of God received the divinely written commandments from God in his arms, he descended from the mountain.8Exodus 32:15-16 But because of the contemptuous9 cf. Zeph 2:15, φαυλίστρια people, who turned their backs to the things of the Lord, fell on their faces, and—violating their covenant with the Lord10Exodus 20:3—worshipped their molten idols,11cf. Exodus 32:4-8 the heartbroken bearer of the commandments was brought to tears. For through the shattering of the tablets, you see that the sorrow of the bearer was made manifest.12Exodus 32:19-20 But as for the blissful one about whom these words13cf. 1 Cor 1:18, λόγος are prepared,14Luke 7:27, κατασκευάζω things did not transpire in the same manner as they did there. Instead, he and his companions, filled with spiritual consolation, anticipated15Luke 21:26, προσδοκίας the eagerness of those who were to receive the letters. These recipients, in turn, with hopeful gladness, awaited16դիտաւորութիւն, cf. Buzand 3:10 their arrival from their journey bearing good news.

Now, as the one commemorated approached the royal city, news reached the king and the holy bishop. Taking the entire cohort21Mt 27:27, σπεῖρα of princes and the multitude of the nobility, they departed from the city and happened to meet the blissful one by the Rah river. Exchanging affectionate greetings and with voices of exultation,22cf. Jude 1:24, ἀγαλλιάσει spiritual songs and the highest blessings, they turned to the city and spent the days in festive joy.

Not even the great Moses rejoiced in such a manner on his descent from Mount Sinai. We do not say he abounded7περισσεύω in joy, far from it. For when the man who beheld the vision of God received the divinely written commandments from God in his arms, he descended from the mountain.8Exodus 32:15-16 But because of the contemptuous9 cf. Now, as the one commemorated approached the royal city, news reached the king and the holy bishop. Taking the entire cohort21Mt 27:27, σπεῖρα of princes and the multitude of the nobility, they departed from the city and happened to meet the blissful one by the Rah river.
